David Tickner has been actively involved at every level in the Instructional Skills Workshop (ISW) program since it began at Vancouver Community College in 1978. He currently serves on the
International ISW Advisory Committee and regularly conducts ISWs and FDWs. He has worked at VCC on various curriculum and instructor development activities in British Columbia and abroad since 1977, including serving a term as Head of the VCC Centre for Instructional Development, now the School of Instructor Education. In particular, he has been a faculty member of the BC Provincial Instructor Diploma Program since 1985. He has also spent several years working in community development and education projects in Australia, Bangladesh, Chile, China, India and the United Arab Emirates as well as being involved in a number of training projects involving polytechnic faculty in various African countries.
He holds an MA (Education) specializing in curriculum development for post-secondary education and training. He has been a community college instructor since 1970 when he began work at Red River Community College in Winnipeg.
